GoalsBC App Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Effective date: the date this policy is first published
This Privacy Policy applies only to the GoalsBC mobile app, including the Android app listed on Google Play as GoalsBC (package name com.goalsbc.app), and explains how personal data is handled when you use that app. It does not cover browsing or transactions on the GoalsBC.ca website, the LeagueUnion app or website, or any other product. Those services have separate privacy notices. The GoalsBC app uses platform technology supplied by LeagueUnion.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
LeagueUnion is responsible for the GoalsBC app and determines how app account, service-operation, security and support information is used. LeagueUnion is operated by Stephen De Hertogh, an individual sole proprietor based in Malta. Contact: privacy@leagueunion.com. In this notice, “LeagueUnion,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the service operated by Stephen De Hertogh.
A club, league, team or other organization using the app may also decide why and how it processes information about its members, players, staff, competitions and events. Where an organization determines those purposes, it may be an independent controller, while LeagueUnion provides the software and hosting needed to operate the app. Contact the organization for its own privacy information.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use and the information supplied by you or your organization, we may process:
– Account and sign-in information: email address, account identifier, password credentials managed by our authentication provider, sign-in method, account status and authentication or recovery records. If you use a third-party sign-in option, we receive the basic account information that provider shares with us, such as an account identifier, email address, name or profile image.
– Profile information: name, profile photo, player photo, biography, nationality, playing position, birth date, gender or playing category, age group, team, jersey number, club and league affiliations. The precise fields depend on the features and organization you use.
– Sport and participation information: membership and roster details, invitations and requests, team assignments, availability, registrations, attendance, fixtures, scores, goals, cards, match reports, results, awards, player statistics, drop-in bookings and waitlist status. Some information may be visible to members of your organization or publicly where the organization and product feature make it visible.
– Payment and accounting information: registration or event amount, currency, payment status, credits, refunds, transaction references, receipts and records needed for financial reconciliation. Payments processed by Stripe are handled by Stripe. We do not intentionally store full payment card numbers or security codes in the GoalsBC application database.
– Communications and preferences: messages you send to support, service email delivery records, notification preferences, in-app notification history and the push notification token or browser subscription needed to deliver notifications if you enable them.
– Consent and legal records: your privacy choices and, where applicable, records that you accepted terms or received a privacy notice. Consent records may include the time, policy version, app family or host and choices made; they are designed not to include IP addresses, request headers or browsing content.
– Photos you choose: if you choose to add or change a profile or player photo, the app may request access to the camera or photo library for that action. The photo you select is uploaded to our profile-photo storage and may be displayed with your player profile.
GOALSBC / APP PRIVACY POLICY
– Technical and diagnostic information: device or app version and identifiers, operating system, crash or error information, app interactions and safe request performance details. Our hosting, authentication and security providers may process IP address, timestamps and standard connection logs to deliver and protect the Service. Optional product analytics and diagnostics are sent only when enabled through the privacy choices offered in the app. Diagnostic request timing does not include request bodies, authorization headers, tokens or URL query strings.
We do not ask for location, contacts, call logs, text messages, health information or advertising identifiers for the core GoalsBC features described here. Camera and photo-library access is requested only when you choose a photo feature. If a feature or future version needs another data type or permission, we will update this notice and provide any disclosure or choice required before collecting it.
3. Information about children and minors
GoalsBC may contain player or team information about people under 18. A minor may have their own GoalsBC login, but may not play in the league until a parent or guardian has signed the required parental waiver. The waiver is collected outside the app and is not stored in GoalsBC. The relevant organization is responsible for checking that the waiver has been signed before allowing the minor to participate. Parents or guardians who have a question or believe a child’s information was provided without appropriate authority may contact us at the privacy email above. We will review the request and take appropriate steps.
Organizations should provide only the information needed to administer participation and should ensure they have authority to provide information about minors. A minor’s sports profile and participation details should be visible only to people who need them for the relevant sporting activity, subject to the organization’s settings and applicable law.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
– create and secure accounts, authenticate users, provide account recovery and maintain your profile;
– operate clubs, teams, leagues, competitions, fixtures, registrations, match records, statistics and other features requested by you or your organization;
– process registrations and payments, record payment status, provide receipts, handle refunds and maintain accounting or audit records;
– send necessary account, security, legal, transactional and service messages, and deliver notifications you have enabled;
– enforce organization permissions, protect the Service, prevent fraud or abuse, investigate incidents and meet legal obligations;
– understand product usage and diagnose reliability only when the relevant optional analytics or diagnostics choice is enabled; and
– respond to support requests, exercise or defend legal claims and improve the Service.
5. Legal bases for processing in the EEA/UK
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on the basis that fits the purpose: performing a contract with you or taking steps at your request; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Service where those interests are not overridden by your rights; compliance with legal obligations, including accounting and record-keeping duties; and consent where we request it, including for optional analytics or diagnostics. You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal or processing based on another lawful basis.

6. When we share information
We disclose information only as needed for the purposes described above:
– Your organization: authorized administrators, coaches, team officials and members may see information needed to operate the club, team, league or event. Public fixtures, results, standings or player details may be visible beyond the organization when the feature or organization settings permit it.
– LeagueUnion: operates the GoalsBC app and supplies its platform technology, including authentication, database and storage infrastructure. LeagueUnion controls app account and service-operation data and may host organization-managed data on an organization’s behalf.
– Infrastructure providers: Supabase provides authentication, database and file storage; Vercel hosts relevant technical services; and Expo/EAS supports mobile app builds and updates.
– Sign-in and app distribution: Google may provide sign-in if you choose Google sign-in and distributes the Android app through Google Play. When you use Google sign-in, Google processes your sign-in under its own privacy notice and shares account information needed to authenticate you.
– Payment providers: Stripe processes payment information and transactions when an organization enables Stripe payments. Stripe’s own privacy notice applies to its processing.
– Email and notification providers: Resend delivers account and service emails. Expo’s push service may route push notifications to your device when you enable them. Notification content may reveal the relevant event or account activity on your device.
– Optional analytics and diagnostics: PostHog receives usage events and, if diagnostics are enabled, diagnostic information and masked replay data. Vercel Analytics or Speed Insights may process web usage or performance data when enabled and applicable. These optional tools are disabled until the relevant choice is made.
– Authorities and other parties: we may disclose information where required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate suspected abuse, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.
LeagueUnion and the other service providers process information to provide the GoalsBC app and its technical services under applicable agreements. They may process information in countries outside your own. Where applicable law requires a transfer safeguard, the controller will rely on an available mechanism such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
7. Public and organization visibility
GoalsBC is a sports-management service, so names, photos, team affiliations, schedules, results, statistics and similar sporting information may be shown to other members of the relevant organization. Certain fixtures, results, standings or discovery listings may be public or available to signed-in users. Visibility depends on the feature and the organization’s configuration. Do not add information to a public profile or event that you do not want the relevant audience to see. Contact your club or league administrator about organization-controlled visibility.
8. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain active memberships and sporting records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. When an account or organization membership is deleted, we delete or de-identify information that is no longer needed, subject to technical processing time and lawful retention needs. Financial transaction, tax, fraud-prevention, security and audit records may be retained for the period required by law or reasonably needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; where possible, retained records are separated from direct account identifiers. Backups and provider systems may take additional time to expire.
Consent evidence is scheduled for deletion after 24 months without a newer event tied to the same consent identifier. Provider logs and backups follow the applicable provider retention periods and deletion schedules.
GOALSBC / APP PRIVACY POLICY
9. Your choices
– You can update profile information in the app or ask the relevant organization administrator to correct organization-managed player records.
– You can manage push notification permission in your device settings and change available notification preferences in GoalsBC.
– You can reject or withdraw optional analytics and diagnostics from the app’s Privacy & legal settings. Necessary authentication and security storage is required for the Service to work.
– You can disconnect from an organization or request deletion as described below. Some organization data, sporting records or financial records may remain where retention is lawful or necessary.
10. Access, correction, deletion and other rights
Depending on the privacy law that applies where you live, you may have the right to request access to or correction of personal information, withdraw consent, and ask us to delete information, subject to legal exceptions. Under laws such as the GDPR, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing and to receive a portable copy of certain data. You may complain to a privacy regulator. In Canada, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the applicable provincial authority. In Malta, you can contact the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC).
To make a request, email privacy@leagueunion.com and include enough information for us to identify the relevant account. We may ask you to verify your identity. If a club, league or another organization controls the relevant information, we may direct your request to that organization or help route it appropriately. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
11. Account and data deletion
You can remove your membership and access to an organization in the app through Settings > your profile > Edit profile > Delete account. This in-app action removes access to the selected organization. To request deletion of your GoalsBC app account and GoalsBC app data, email privacy@leagueunion.com from the email address linked to your sign-in. We will verify the request and delete or de-identify GoalsBC app data that we are not required or permitted to retain. Organization owners may need to transfer ownership before their membership can be removed. A shared sign-in may remain active if used by another app or product; this does not authorize LeagueUnion or GoalsBC to expose your GoalsBC data in that other product. We will explain what will be removed and what must be retained when you submit a request.
12. Security
We use measures designed to protect information, including access controls, authentication, tenant scoping and secure connections. We restrict staff and provider access to what is needed for their duties. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please use a unique password, protect your device and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
GOALSBC / APP PRIVACY POLICY
13. International processing
GoalsBC and its service providers may process information in the European Economic Area and other countries where the providers operate. Where applicable law requires a transfer safeguard, we will rely on an available mechanism such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. Contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to a specific transfer.
14. Third-party services and links
Sign-in providers, payment providers, app stores, operating-system services and websites linked from GoalsBC operate under their own privacy notices. Their processing is governed by those notices. This policy does not cover those independent services.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the GoalsBC app’s processing or legal obligations change. We will publish the new version with an updated date and provide an in-app notice or request renewed acknowledgement where required. The current app policy will be hosted at goalsbc.ca/wpautoterms/privacy-policy/ and linked from the GoalsBC Google Play listing and within the app.
